We spent two days in studio this week shooting green screen on camera standups and B roll for iRacing.com, produced by Matt Mays for Innovative. iRacing.com is the world’s leading online race simulation service, and they will soon be opening the iRacing Driving School to help up and coming sim drivers compete with the best. I didn’t get a chance to try out the simulator, but just watching someone else use it was a lot of fun.

Today we made a scouting trip of sorts to the largest maximum security penitentiary in the United Sates, the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. We’re working with our friends Rex Powers & Matt Mays on a potential TV series where Angola would serve as a primary location. Angola is like a city in itself. It’s basically an 18,000 acre farm that happens to have prisoners on it – more than 5000 of them. The inmates mostly stay in dormitory style housing, with only the troublemakers spending their time in one man cells. As long as they are physically able, the majority of prisoners work in jobs ranging from mechanics and auto body techs to cattle ranchers and field hands. Several Hollywood movies have been filmed here, including Dead Man Walking and Monster’s Ball. We hope to eventually be able to add our production to the list.

A couple of months back a good friend and client of ours, Keith Sahm at Sunset House in Grand Cayman, asked if we would share with another production company some of the High Definition footage we shot for the Sunset House promo video. This particular company specializes in a pretty unique niche – they edit videos to be played during flights on Delta Airlines. So of course we clipped out some selects and sent the footage on it’s way. We had kind of forgotten about that until Keith posted this link to the finished video on YouTube. And if you’re flying Delta in October, you just might see this video on the plane. We’re happy to say whoever edited this piece included quite a few of our shots, both underwater and on land, to include in the final piece.

Earlier this month Bill was hired to shoot underwater video for an independent documentary production. Now, being hired to shoot video underwater is unusual in itself, but what really made this job unique was the location. All work would take place in Eilat, Israel in the waters of the Red Sea. Of course, Bill jumped at the chance and traveled to Israel to spend three days scuba diving and shooting underwater video.

It was 24 hours of travel to get to the location. We spent three days scuba diving and shooting, then another 24 hours to return home. This was a quick trip for sure, but was definitely a great experience. We did some great work and met some really good new friends along the way. There’s a few photos here. See more on our Facebook page.
